The Invasive Species Council of BC is a provincial non-profit organization working to protect and restore BC’s landscapes and habitats from the devastating impacts of invasive species. Over the past 15 years, the Council has developed and delivered outreach, training and skill development programs while working closely with a network of partners, including the Indigenous Invasive Species Network, Local Government Invasive Species Network, and the Province of BC.

Action Team Members are part of a 4-person crew involved in field survey, management and restoration of BC’s landscapes and habitats from the impacts of invasive species. Reporting to the Action Team Supervisor, this role requires self-motivation and high levels of organization from individuals who enjoy learning new skills and working on a team!


  • Execution of invasive species management techniques as identified on a local workplan via mechanical or chemical means.
  • Participate in virtual/online orientation and training as required.
  • Ensure Occupation Health & Safety practices are followed and complied.
  • Ensure professionalism while carrying out all Action Team activities, including interaction with the general public and our partners.
  • Assist with database maintenance and reporting.

What skills and strengths you will bring as an Action Team Member:


  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to engage in physical work, heavy lifting (up to 25kgs/55lbs), outdoor work in challenging environments/weather conditions/remote locations
  • Experience in supporting and expanding a volunteer and/or community engagement program
  • Willingness to learn!


This position is 4-6 months long . Additionally, this role will be a 37.5 hour work week, with specific compressed work week schedule to be determined.

Tentative start date of May 16, 2022.
